Trainers’ training on Supply Chain Management at Manipur
Central Institute of Horticulture, Medziphema, Nagaland in collaboration with National Institute of Agricultural Marketing, Jaipur, Rajasthan organized three (3) days Trainers’ Training Programme on ‘Supply Chain Management’ at Manipur Press Club, Imphal, Manipur from 16th – 18th October, 2012. A brief inaugural programme was organized where Mr. M. Kuber Singh, Jt. Director, Soil conservation & i/c HMNE, Govt. of Manipur graced the programme as Chief Guest. The resource persons of the three days training programme were Dr. Ramesh Mittal, Dy Director, NIAM, Jaipur & Mr. Prabin Das, Marketing Specialist, CIH, Nagaland.
On the first day the topics discussed were on ‘Basis of SCM’, ‘Agri. Business and Supply Chain’, ‘Channel Management’ and ‘E. Marketing’ followed by relevant case studies on subject matter.
On the second day the topics discussed were ‘Agri – Marketing’, ‘Research on SCM & Agri Business’ followed by field visit. The participants visited a Flower Nursery Unit, processing centre & local market yard during the field visit.
On the third day, the topics discussed were, ‘Agri – food supply chain’, ‘buying & selling dynamics in horticulture’, ‘marketing opportunities’ & ‘retail supply chains’, followed by open discussions.
During the feedback hour, the participants appraised the initiative of CIH & NIAM for conducting the training programme on SCM, which plays a vital role to boost production and marketing of horticulture crops.
A total of forty six (46) participants were a part of the three days training programme. Read More (PDF)
